Position Summary: The Front Desk Assistant is the first contact the public has with House of Ruth Maryland at the Community Engagement Center and is responsible for setting a helpful, welcoming, and informed tone for visitors. Being the agency’s public location, some of those individuals will be impacted by intimate partner violence and seeking support. The Front Desk Assistant must be comfortable engaging traumatized people in a sensitive manner.
The Front Desk Assistant will engage with clients, board members, dignitaries and other guests with professional courtesy.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Carries out routine office activities such as answering a multi-line phone system, fielding questions, routing calls, and other tasks as needed
· Greets and assists visitors, donors, community partners and vendors for entry into the facility
· Enforces donation policies as established by the Development team
· Maintains a pleasant and professional environment in the lobby area of the Community Engagement Center
· Remains current on hotline procedures and appropriate response to callers and walk-ins
Ideal Candidates Would Have:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to comfortably and pleasantly deal with a variety of people
· Strong customer service skills
· Problem solving capabilities necessary to accomplish the duties and tasks of the position
