About the Office of Government, Community & Economic Partnerships: The Office of Economic Development elevates and expands Johns Hopkins’ commitment to the city by strengthening economic and neighborhood development, health care, and education. Volunteer engagement by University and Medicine staff and faculty is vital in helping to achieve this mission. We rely on your talents to serve the community through the Johns Hopkins Takes Time for Baltimore program.

Johns Hopkins provides paid time off to volunteer up to 16 hours annually through our service leave policy. Spend a day painting educational murals in Baltimore City schools, restoring community parks, building community gardens, and many more opportunities.

Whether you want to help fund school uniforms for city school students through the annual Back to School Uniform Drive, or bring holiday cheer to a family in need through the Holiday Gift Drive or volunteer your assistance in some other way, the GCE office is great place to start.
