Best Buddies at JHU

Best Buddies is an organization dedicated to the enhancement of the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities by providing the opportunity to form one-to-one friendships. People with intellectual disabilities are often overlooked and not given the opportunity to integrate fully into society and demonstrate their talents and personalities. Best Buddies' goal is to bridge the gap that divides people with intellectual disabilities and those without.

Two Programs

Every member is paired in a one-to-one friendship with young adults from the Baltimore Transition Connection OR Claremont School based on their common likes and interests.

Together as a student group we meet on TUESDAYS AT 3:30-5 with the Transition School OR with Claremont school every WEDNESDAY 3:30-5:30.  Apply to either with the below link.

What we do

Previous activities included going ice skating, an orioles game, Hopkins lacrosse games, bowling, thanksgiving potluck, and many more! In addition to these meetings we also do a Spread the Word to End the Word campaign in the Spring to stop the use of the R-word and spread awareness to the Hopkins community.
